Book Review: Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke

My book club is reading Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke this month, and it’s been a thrilling and provocative read. I’m so excited to hear what the rest of the group things, but this is one of the most interesting and engaging novels I’ve read this year. It absolutely lives up to the hype.

Book Review: Rain of Shadows and Endings by Melissa K. Roehrich

Rain of Shadows and Endings isn’t falling at the top of my book recommendations for this year. I’ll admit, this book was a struggle to get through, and I can say with certainty that I won’t be reading on in this series. I struggled a lot with the themes and the violence in this book. This book won’t be for everyone, and it definitely wasn’t for me.

Book Review: Rites of the Starling by Devney Perry

Told in two perspectives, this book is gripping in its exploration of the magic of Calandra. The world expands even further in interesting and contradictory ways as the reader is introduced to Caspia, a young woman whose story is confusing at first, yet beautiful all the same.

Book Review: Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross

Rebecca Ross’s Wild Reverence is a beautifully written tale of a goddess who, against all odds, falls in love with a mortal. Matilda is meant to be a lowly goddess, but she burns brightly with a fire that ignites her spirit and sparks her movement between the realms. The world Ross constructs is masterful and her characters breathtaking. This is a tale of woman’s to span the ages, the realms, and death itself.

Book Review: Motherhood Discounted by Carolyn McConnell

This week I’ve been working through the final pages of Motherhood Discounted by Carolyn McConnell. This upcoming book journeys through the history and mothers as it relates to reproductive autonomy and care work within the home. It’s a poignant and thoughtful argument on the need for more support for mothers both in and out of the home, and a plea for support of women’s right to chose what is best for their bodies.

With time spent reading, I’ve had many weekend mornings and weekday evenings on the couch with a blanket and a cup of Bella Luna tea. I’ve been fortunate to receive an #ARC from the publisher for review, as well as a brand new tea from Adagio Teas. A vibrant colour, but a calming and taste, the Early Grey Bella Luna is a solid addition to my tea collection (https://www.adagiotea.eu/black/earl_grey_bella_luna_tea.html).

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ to both!
