Book Review: The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent

As we’re heading into winter, I’ve been cozied up with my crochet project and a copy of The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King by #CarissaBroadbent. I’ll admit that this book took a little longer than usual to get through—a little less reading and a little too much Netflix—but I still enjoyed this second book in the #CrownsofNyaxia series.

Book Review: The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon

Ariel Lawhon’s The Frozen River is a profoundly moving historical fiction that I’ve been honoured to read along with a group of friends. Our book club has been loving this novel and I’ve been transported back over two hundred years. It’s been the perfect #fallread.

Book Review: The Atlas Six by Olive Blake

The cozy vibes continue! The Atlas Six has been on my #TBR for quite a while now and I couldn’t resist picking up a copy at @readersnookcobourg back in the summer. Finally sitting down, I was absolutely swept away by this novel. It’s unlike anything I’ve read in a long while, with secret societies, long-forgotten classical libraries, murder plots, emotional manipulation, tumultuous and tenuous relationships. Ugh, so good! Plus, I’m making progress on my crocheted blanket with over half of my hexies complete. This blanket is coming together!

Book Review: Zodiac Academy: Sorrow and Starlight by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

Self care for me this month has been reading, crochet, and skin care. The ritual of taking care of my skin, crocheting another round for a blanket, then listening to Zodiac Academy has been bringing me so much joy. Though I didn’t love this eighth book in the series, I still intend to see this series through to the end. Happy reading!
