This series just keeps getting better and better with every passing book. I have to be honest, I thought this was the final book in the series and I was sorely disappointed to discover that it is in fact second-to-last. I am overwhelmingly excited and let down simultaneously. Excited that I get to stay in this world a little longer, but let down because I am absolutely craving resolution and a resounding triumph for our heroine.
Armentrout’s world-building skills are unparalleled. Every book reveals a more expansive map with hidden treasures and undiscovered horrors. There is no letting up and it’s absolutely masterful! Not only does she create a world that immerses her readers and sweeps them into a new realm, she also knows how to write a plot that keeps you hooked in, no matter what twists and turns the story takes.
There’s not a lot I can say without revealing key plot details and I want to keep this spoiler-free. All you need to know is this is an incredible series. Romantasy or fantasy lovers will absolutely rejoice. If you’re a newbie to Armentrout’s writing, or it’s still unknown to you, definitely pick up this series. It’s a staple.
Happy reading!
