Synopsis from Goodreads:
When Tom and Fenn Rosenthal posted their original song, “Dinosaurs in Love”, it became an instant classic. Just as Fenn’s dinosaurs fell in love, so did the world. Now readers of all ages can enjoy Fenn’s heartfelt, poignant lyrics again and again in this irresistible, sing-aloud picture book, featuring charming illustrations from Hannah Jacobs (animator of the viral music video) and bonus material.

Dinosaurs in Love is a sweet story based on the music video created by three-year-old Fenn and her dad. Little Worn Pages, my son, absolutely loved the colourful and beautiful artwork. Because of the music video, we can sing along to the book as we read through which makes story time infinitely more fun. Although he doesn’t understand the story just yet, he loved to look at the colours and he likes to coo along as I sing. Once he’s older and begins to read, this story will be a perfect place for him to start reading along–not too hard, but still silly and fun.

The artwork is gorgeous. It’s the perfect compliment to the simple story. Jacobs adds detailed and touching imagery to accompany the words. The images are vibrant and full of comedy as the dinosaurs are illustrated swimming, dancing, playing the guitar, sharing fruit, and kissing. Although there is not much plot, it’s an entertaining book for kids and parents to sing to together. I’m so glad for the opportunity to share this with my son.

Happy reading!
