Synopsis:
Evelyn can remember all her past lives. She can also remember that in every single one, she’s been murdered before her eighteenth birthday by Arden, a supernatural being linked to her soul. The problem is that she’s quite fond of the life she’s in now, and her little sister needs her in order to stay alive. If Evelyn wants to save her sister, she’ll have to find the centuries-old devil who hunts her through each life before they find her first, figure out why she’s being hunted and finally break their curse, and try not to fall in love . . . again.

What a unique and tragic story this is! Our Infinite Fates has been on my TBR since it first came out nearly a year ago and I wish I hadn’t put it off as long as I did. Masterfully weaving across time and space, it tells the story of Evelyn, murdered before she can reach her eighteenth birthday again and again by Arden, whose fate is tied so closely to her own. Over and over again, Evelyn and Arden come together, before their lives are ripped away from them, one in a terrible act of violence, and one always destined to follow into death.
Born into various bodies, there is an undeniable bond between Evelyn and Arden that brings them together. The origin of their connection remains a mystery, though Evelyn can’t stop herself from asking questions. Why are they draw together? Why do they have to die? Why can’t she finally be allowed to live her life and age in peace? For centuries, they have gone on like this and as the pieces start to fall into place, she finally wants answers. From Arden, or from anyone else who might be able to give her some kind of insight into their terrible and twisted fates.
As far as romantasy goes, I love that this story didn’t over emphasize the romance. While the attraction is a constant connective thread between these two characters, there is so much more to their relationship, their history, and their destiny. The characters are both mysterious and robust in who they are and the way they move from life to life. Though they inhabit different bodies, the continuity the author brings to these characters across the centuries is beautiful, drawing the reader in by exposing each personality one century at a time.
This is definitely one of the more unique stories on the romantasy market right now, and that certainly makes it a standout. It’s been a joy to read. Anyone else out there a fan?
Happy reading!
