Synopsis:
Mia Neal is a champion overthinker. Fortunately, she puts that energy to good use: in a podcast about Formula One, her favorite sport in the world. There’s nothing about racing Mia doesn’t adore. The speed. The drivers. The fierce competition. The single-minded ambition. Ironic for a woman who’s changed careers more times than she can count.

Only now, her salty takes on gorgeous Brit driver Xander Bishop have gone viral, and the podcast feels more and more like what she’s meant to do… Then Xander’s teammate invites her to the Miami Grand Prix to see F1 up close—and get in Xander’s head. It should be all-out war. Instead, Mia and Xander are stunned by the sudden crackle of…something between them. It’s irresistible, unbelievably hot—and Mia’s warning flags are waving. Because this reckless attraction is coming at Mia all too fast…

Fluff, fluff, and more fluff! While Booth’s Not So Fast isn’t winning any awards for best written fiction—in fact, this book isn’t even trying to be very well written—it does have a light-hearted and fun story that is little more than filler and a whole lot of feel-good. Centring around a podcaster who loves Formula One, and the trip of a lifetime to report directly from the track, this story is going to have a very niche audience. It’ll be exciting for race lovers who enjoy a light romance.

Reading this book is like watching any rom-com. It’s sweet, it’s easy to absorb, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a perfect summer beach read. The characters are detailed enough to hook the reader, but they aren’t on any hugely transformative journeys. They’re just living their lives, bettering themselves and their careers, and experiencing romance in the most unexpected of places.

A light review for a light book. It’s simple and sweet with a lot of fun banter as the two main characters get to know one another. It’s easy to pick up and put down again without losing track of the storyline. Because it isn’t very long, the plot moves quickly and the story is fast paced. For so few pages, there’s a lot of action and no time to get lost or add too much unnecessary context. I was able to read it over the course of two evenings, and it was easy and all too enjoyable to get sucked into the world for a few hours.

Happy reading!
