One thing that’s got me pretty excited for the Christmas and holiday season is this tasty advent calendar from Adagio Teas. As the weather has grown colder here and the nights longer, comfort and coziness has been top priority. While I haven’t had nearly as much time to read as I would like with things picking up at work and life just getting generally busier, one thing I have been able to enjoy each afternoon has been a hot pot of tea.

I know, I know, it’s pretty early to dive into the Christmas teas in particular, but the funny thing is, I’m usually working at least 3 months ahead for work most of the time anyway, so this put me right on time as I was working my way through the first slew of loose leaves.

Presentation of the calendar is quite beautiful. It’s quite sizeable considering all that’s in here are 24 pouches of tea. The metallic packaging and festive print make this a beautiful package to open up. I will admit, the mix of written numbers and numerals is throwing me off a bit, and is an interesting choice, particularly because the font sizes change depending how many letters are needed to spell out the numbers. It’s not an ideal design, but I can see that the company was trying to do something fun and unique. What it loses in consistency, it does make up in overall design and aesthetic.

The flavours have all been really unique with names like Reindeer Fuel, Cherry Marzipan Oolong, and Cranberry Cream. They’ve tasted exactly like what you think of during the holiday season: peppermint, nutty, hints of spice. I received the teas in loose leaf packets, however, according to the website, you can also get the calendar with tea bags. I would have preferred the second option for simplicity, however it has given me an excuse to break out my Baby Nessie OTOTO tea infuser (pictured above).

I’m always looking for a unique Advent Calendar that’s not just the same old waxy chocolate, though I do love the nostalgia that brings. I may be too old for these calendars nowadays, but who says that adults can’t have a little fun too? This tea Advent Calendar is exactly the type of thing I like to treat myself too now and again. It goes hand-in-hand with my regular reading schedule. It’s been a huge comfort to me over the past few weeks and I’d highly recommend.
