Synopsis from Goodreads:
Newborns will love snuggling up with Baby Goat! Baby Goat plays, climbs, meets new friends, and drifts off to bedtime with her loving family. Featuring a plush finger puppet that peeks into each lovingly illustrated page, Baby Goat will delight infants and parents alike.
This was my son’s very first experience with a finger puppet book and his reaction was hilarious! While he does not yet understand the story, or even really know what a goat is, he was enamoured with the baby goat finger puppet. Little Worn Pages grabbed either side of the book and shoved baby goat purposefully and intently into his mouth. At first I thought maybe he was just mouthing the book to really try and figure it out, but as the days go on, I’m starting to wonder if that’s his version of a kiss. He does the same motion now to my nose and cheek. I hope it’s a kiss! If so, that it be the most adorable.
This is a great book for me to read with our little reader just before bed. It’s a simple introduction to the different senses: sight, hearing, taste, feel (although not smell), and it ends with the Baby Goat cuddling up for bed. It’s engaging and interactive with the added finger puppet, but is simple enough that my four month old is able to focus on and find joy in the illustrations. If Little Worn Pages is happy, I’m happy. So giving this book 4 stars on his behalf.
Happy reading!
