Book Review: You Are New by Lucy Knisley

*I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*
Title: You Are New
Author: Lucy Knisley
Publisher: Chronicle Books
Publication Date: March 12, 2019
ISBN: 9781452161563

Synopsis from Goodreads:
A world of being new is waiting for little ones and the grown-ups who love them in this warm and funny book perfect for baby showers. From napping to crying, cuddling to playing, this book introduces the world with humor, honesty, and unmitigated sweetness.

This picture book was absolutely adorable. With sweet images to accompany the story, You Are New walks through all the stages of what babies face when they first encounter the world around them. And even after the world itself isn’t new anymore, there are still lots of new experiences to encounter. The story is told with a bit of humour that helps to keep the tone light and fun.

The imagery is bright and beautiful. As a graphic artist, Knisley does a great job of creating a cheerful pictorial experience. The rhymes are fun and keep the story flowing quickly. It’s not too extensive and there are just enough words on the page that it can be read to younger readers as well and some older ones as well.

I can’t wait to share this with our new Little Worn Pages.
