This is an absolutely gorgeous book that I’m excited to have added to my collection. Over the years, my garden has expanded, but my knowledge hasn’t really (or so I feel). This year, as Mr. Worn Pages and I prepare to expand our garden 3-fold to work towards sustainable and clean eating, I want to arm myself with the knowledge and support to tackle new techniques, and to explore the ways to grow and harvest the foods that we love to eat.
Taking the novice gardener from preparation to garden planning, to sowing, growing, and harvesting, Galloway walks the reader through each critical stage in the gardening process. Readers are prepared with the tools they need to plan a garden, extend the growing season, and tackle pesky pests that may make an appearance throughout the growing season. Armed with the knowledge of how to prepare the garden, Galloway then takes the reader through a whole host of different common (and sometimes less common) herbs and vegetables that one might choose to tackle for the coming season.
Accompanied by gorgeous photos and a heavily weighted, smooth paper, this is a fabulous edition to any gardener’s (or would-be-gardener’s) library. It’s affordable, beautiful, and filled with just the right amount of knowledge to be helpful, informative, and supportive. I’m looking forward to using it as a reference guide throughout the coming Spring and Summer, though I’ve already been reading and highlighting up a storm as I prepare my own seeds for the year.
Love to garden and interested in growing your own food? This guide is one of two books I’ve selected to use as reference this year. Maybe I can convince you to join me on this garden journey.
Happy reading!
